In #415: Blender: python script to import text , I am still using blender text objects for the text in the video. Pros and cons are mentioned in that issue.

There is another solution which might be easier. Instead of using text objects, use simple planes (much easier to animate). Then use images with black text on white background for masking the texture we want the text to have.

Thus it'd be much easier to have the text in Chinese, Hebrew or any language we might want. Only the source image (with the text) need to be updated when translating the video into new languages. The blend file itself would be mostly untouched.

Make some test animation videos as a proof of concept.
