Description

Soon, we'll have to be able to upload large files so that users can share their videos, etc.

As it happen, I am currently trying to upload a 1.5GB video file on a remote server via ftp (using lftp). The upload would take 17+ hours, but if it is interupted for any reason, the upload has to start again from zero.

What technology, tools, etc would allow users to upload easily large files. How does google video handle uploads?

we need this to allow people to share their material. This issue is complicated because we need to take into account several factors (I'll give details later).
